Coffee in Other Languages
18 July 2006What is coffee called in other languages? Just curious about it so decided to find out. I used Babel Fish Translation service of Altavista to do so and here are the results.
- Dutch - koffie
- French, Portugese, Spanish - café
- German - Kaffee
- Italian - caffè
- Chinese - 咖啡 ( pronouce as Kafei )
- Japanese - コーヒー
- Russian - кофеий
- Greek - καφές
- Korean - 커피
Can’t pronouce the last four though but I guess should sound more or less like the others. Hmm…. coffee is indeed one universal drink
